Sauna Sessions

Book your Sauna seats in my two hand built, wood fired horsebox Sauna. Lovilgly created and named YAN and TAN.

YAN was the FIRST outdoor, wood fired horsebox Sauna in the Lake District founded in January 2023. And will be back in action from mid November to offer more seats for larger bookings. She seats 4 people at one time.

TAN is my newer second Sauna build and seats 5 people at one time.

We are sited at Bank Ground Farm, right on the shoreline of Coniston Water for cold dips during your Sauna experience. With an absolutely stunning view across the water to Coniston Old Man.

Sauna bookings are for an hour, with 50 minutes Sauna time and 10 minutes to clean between sessions. This will give you time to fully relax and feel the full benefits of heat from the Sauna and cold from dips in Coniston.  To experience ‘thermal wellbeing’ in this totally unique experience in the Lakes.

Bookings are for one hour slots and is £20 per person for a communal sauna. TAN can seat up to 5 people, so if you are with friends, book all 5 seats and you will have the sauna to yourselves. If you would like longer than an hour long, just book consecutive slots.

*On quieter days I may only fire one sauna up, so it may mean you are asked to have your session in whichever sauna is running that day. This is to ensure the most efficient use of wood.

Parking is available by the Farmhouse. Pop into the Farmhouse Cafe when you arrive and they will be able to assist you in paying the parking fee.

There is the Swallows and Amazon Cafe on site within the historic farmhouse serving breakfast (pre booking advised) Lunch, afternoon tea and homemade cakes. Both the inside and Outside seating offer breathtaking view of Coniston Old Man.

There is a toilet in the Cafe you may use plus a composting toilet shack down by the Lake side. And a boathouse in which you can get changed.

 

Please make sure you arrive to allow extra time to get parked up, walk or drive down to the Sauna and get changed.

where can you find us

Right on the shoreline of Coniston Water at Bank Ground Farm, with a stunning view accross the water to Coniston Old Man.  You will have a unique, authentic nordic style sauna experience. With the option to have cold dips in the water during your Sauna session for hot and cold exposure.

The sauna bookings are for one hour slots, with 50 minutes Sauna time and 10 minutes to clean between sessions. Giving you time to fully relax and feel the full benefits of heat from the Sauna and cold from dipping in the Lake combined.

When you arrive at Bank Ground farm, park up by the Farmhouse. Please pop into the Cafe and they can take payment for parking which is at the request of the landowner. Follow the La’alsauna signs that will lead you down to the Sauna sited near the waters edge.

The Swallows and Amazon cafe provides Breakfasts (pre booking advised) Luch and afternoon tea and cakes.

A toilet is available in the Farmhouse by the Cafe and there is a composting toilet shack by the waters edge.

Please allow extra time prior to your booking to sort out parking, find where we are and get changed.

The Swallows and Amazon Cafe are open for Breakfast 8:30am-10:00am (call to reserve a table to avoid disappointment) Lunch 12pm - 3pm (Thursday to Monday) Tea and cakes 11am-4pm (Thursday to Monday)

Bank Ground Farm is a B&B. So if you would like to stay over and make the most of your visit, you can. They also have holiday cottages if you would like to plan a trip.
